Button Rings
I designed and exhibited button rings for the first time at my exhibition in Cartagena de Indias / Colombia in 2009. Since then they have been continuously developed them. The starting point is always one or more especially beautiful buttons, which I combine with gemstones or cultured pearls.
The ring rail consists of rubber band, or colored plastic. By now the buttons originate from all over the world. They are made of mother of pearl, wood, glass, pebble, bakelite, gemstones, textiles, paper or polymer. The oldest of them are more than 100 years old. Although I sometimes own several of the same buttons, each button ring is unique, because the composition is always different.
